Press release

Macabre Victorian murder mystery game Blood On The Thames releases Chapter One on July 12!

Curious gamers can receive early access to several chapters before launch through a mysterious ARG.

July 2nd - Team Firestorm is excited to announce that players will be able to immerse themselves in the first chapter of their gothic murder mystery, Blood on the Thames, on July 12 for free. Early access to subsequent chapters will be available every few weeks through an immersive Alternate Reality Game (ARG), all leading up to the full release later this fall.

Announced earlier this year, Blood on the Thames places players in the middle of a disastrously dangerous mystery set in the smoky streets of a Lovecraftian Victorian London. This tale of terror will transport players through intricate set pieces as they investigate a murder unlike any other…

Brand New Blood on the Thames Trailer! | Here

It’s 1888 and Minerva Ernest's peaceful life is suddenly shattered. Her husband has been found dead in London’s Thames River - his body ferociously savaged by something in the water. Returning home from police questioning, Minerva finds her maid collapsed in a pool of blood, sending the trajectory of her life into a terrifying spiral. As these unsettling events unfold, Minerva realizes that there is a sinister force at play, one that threatens the very beating heart of London itself.

During her investigations, Minerva’s detective vision will help her spot the most crucial clues in the room, but it is down to the player to piece together how these strands might weave their way to answers.

It’s not enough to simply use Minerva’s sharp senses to strike upon pivotal evidence for the case. Players will need to use their cunning and wit to determine which items will elicit the correct response from a suspect during interrogations.

A cast of captivating characters brings these environments to life, but be warned that some don’t mind dirtying their hands to come out on top. Build relationships to access new locations, earn trust to uncover insights, and decide who has your back - or face your fate with the twisting, turning machinations of a cult whose goals are fixed on weaponizing an unknowable entity that could change the world forever.

To dive deeper into this experience, players can immerse themselves in an ARG on AITIS.org, where they’ll uncover hidden clues and unravel puzzles that will offer early access to upcoming chapters before the full launch. This interactive experience will reward the most dedicated of detectives!

Blood On The Thames’ visually striking mixed media visual style boasts both 3D environments and detailed photographs of the core characters, letting players sink their teeth into the crime scenes and be rewarded with authentic recreations of the photographs of this interesting period of history.

Matt Thompson, founder of Team Firestorm and game director, said: “I am excited to see people start to experience Blood on the Thames. I can't wait to see the excitement from players as they search for every little detail, both in the game and in the overarching story.”

Chapter One of Blood On The Thames comes to PC via Steam on July 12th, with new episodes releasing every few weeks for players who can uncover secrets in the ARG. The full game will launch on Steam for all players later this Fall.
