LOS ANGELES – June 20, 2024 – Simpler Times, the debut game from developer Stoneskip that surprise-launched during the acclaimed Day of the Devs 2024: Summer Game Fest Edition showcase, is filled with poignant moments that can be replayed like a favorite song. It’s only fitting that iam8bit and Stoneskip are collaborating on bringing the mesmerizing soundtrack from the iam8bit Presents title to life. On June 20, the Simpler Times soundtrack, with its mellow vibes that evolve like passing seasons, will be available digitally on major streaming platforms and on vinyl.
Fans can pre-save the Simpler Times soundtrack on their preferred streaming platform here. Orders for the two-disc Simpler Times vinyl soundtrack will open at 9 a.m. PDT on June 20 on iam8bit.com and will include a digital download.
Art, music, and vinyl are so fundamental to the experience of Simpler Times that iam8bit had to capture this beautiful alchemy on wax. The Simpler Times soundtrack includes musician George Pandrea's wholly original score for the game, packed with low-fi beats, chill vocals, and warm, hypnotic loops. All 16 tracks from the soundtrack are pressed on gorgeous "Meditative Maroon" vinyl, with album art from Stoneskip’s own Laara Bonn and Dragos Matkovski. This dynamic artist duo crafted visuals worthy of a spot on the in-game – or your own – record shelf, making this release more meta than most.
This album marks a lot of firsts – not just as a herald of Stoneskip’s debut title as a studio, but as the first vinyl crafted for an iam8bit Presents-published title. We couldn’t be any prouder if we tried, because the sounds contained here are absolutely joyous.
