Gameware Europe is a Cambridge based company that has been around for more than 20 years – during which time the games industry has changed enormously. When Gameware began trading in 2001, it was mainly developing games that would be shipped as boxed products via publishers/distribution companies globally.
Back in 2003, Jeremy Cooke (pictured) , CEO of Gameware, acquired all of the intellectual property assets of Cambridge based Creature Labs – these assets notably included the ‘Creatures’ and ‘James Pond’ game franchises. The standalone PC ‘Creatures’ games are still available via digital -platforms Steam and GOG.com and ‘James Pond -Robocod’ on Nintendo GBA via a publishing partner.
Gameware was one of the first companies to embrace augmented and mixed reality tech – and secured the Prix Jeunesse global award and a BAFTA nomination in 2004, as the production company behind the ‘BAMZOOKi’ CBBC TV show – still a world leading exemplar of mixed reality TV. Gameware has always looked to stay ahead of the technology curve – developing innovative game and technology solutions - for commercial customers.
After several years’ working as a collaborative partner in major leading edge EU projects, Gameware has now developed a range of back end server technologies that sit on the Unity middleware platform and enable rapid prototyping and development of mobile game products. All server side components can be re-deployed in new games and multiple game iterations can be developed and published to the App store and Google Play. “The Professor” – soon to have a female accomplice - is a central character in the family friendly output of the prolific Gameware team.
Gameware has also developed an advertising platform that enables the game range to be promoted across the range when the ad fill rate is low – and also NOT to serve ads where the user has the game to be promoted already installed.
To prove their point, Gameware currently has published seven games live on Google Play and six on the App Store in the last few months – here:

Gameware has also taken on two rapid prototyping passion projects for third parties and has most recently developed “Block Spin” and BlockTastic” ( pictured). Further derivative Block games “Block and Roll” and “Block Star” are also in the works – pushing the game genre forward beyond the current state-of-the-art.
Gameware is now looking to add one or two more third party prototyping projects to its roster – so feel free to contact info@gamewareeurope.com for further information.
