Karlstad, Sweden – March 21, 2025 – Clear River Games, a video game publisher specialising in classic and retro games, announced today that classic run-and-gun mecha game Assault Suit Leynos 2 is available now as Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute for PlayStation® 4, PlayStation® 5, and Nintendo® Switch™.
Assault Suit Leynos 2 is the 32-bit followup to Sega® Mega Drive™/Genesis™ classic Assault Suit Leynos (known as Target Earth in North America), and this sequel is making its way onto western consoles for the very first time as Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute. Produced and developed by City Connection using the Zebra Engine, the Sega® Saturn™ classic has now been brought to modern consoles with full localisation into multiple languages, allowing western console players to experience the high-octane gameplay and story for the first time.
Set in the year 2123 AD, players are thrust into a space-faring conflict that’s hit boiling point, following the assassination of a high-ranking politician. The weapon of choice in this alternate future is the Assault Suit, a humanoid robotic weapon, and players will take charge of the 12th Special Assault Suits Squad in a fight against a relentless mechanized army.
In Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute, players are able to fully customise multiple Assault Suits with a huge array of sci-fi weaponry and components, including some weapons previously unattainable now available through modern bug fixes. Players can choose between auto or manual aiming, with a difficulty system that cleverly adapts to the skill of the player. Each component changes how each Assault Suit plays, with certain weapons even altering the field-of-view, so players will have to pick carefully in order to build the ultimate machine of destruction.
Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute comes upgraded with plenty of new features and quality-of-life improvements perfect for a modern audience.
