Broken Arrow Demo Launches with Ooraah!

U.S. Marines go to war in single-player mission demo of upcoming modern warfare tactics game as part of Steam Next Fest

A first-time demo for the much-anticipated modern warfare real-time tactics game Broken Arrow will launch today as part of the Steam Next Fest. The single-player mission pits U.S. Marines against the Russian Armed Forces in an immersive full-length combat scenario featuring the latest units and weapons.

Joint Forces Warfare

Broken Arrow is a massive real-time modern warfare tactics game, emphasizing a unique army-building system, deep unit and weapon customization, and over 200+ realistic units. Pitting contemporary American and Russian armies against each other in a fictional conflict on NATO’s frontiers, the upcoming game is being developed by independent studio Steel Balalaika and renowned strategy publisher Slitherine.
Broken Arrow will offer not only complex joint forces warfare in single-player campaigns and scenarios but also feature action-packed multiplayer. Authenticity, immersion, and endless replayability sit at the core of Broken Arrow, promising military history aficionados and strategy fans a brand-new chapter in real-time strategy gaming.

First-ever demo

The Broken Arrow demo offered during the Steam Next Fest is an exciting sneak preview of what is to come with the full game. Aimed at experienced RTS players, the demo features an in-depth combat scenario set on the Baltic Coast, straight from the main single-player campaign.

In the Broken Arrow demo mission, players will be tasked to infiltrate a platoon of U.S. Marines Force Recon to destroy critical coastal defenses on the Baltic shore. Clearing the sky of enemy planes, and escorting their landing craft and hovercraft to the shore, waves of powerful M1A1 Abrams and armored vehicles can be unleashed to dominate the battlefield. The mission will see American troops fight block for block in intense close-quarter infantry battles against airdropped enemy paratroopers. Forces can be resupplied with heavy-lift helicopters from a carrier group offshore. Prospective commanders need to take care and repel the assault of a full tank company with the combined arms help of helicopters and planes.

As Broken Arrow is still in active development, certain features of the full game are absent in the demo, including a limited selection of forces, no playable Russian side, and unit or deck customization options. Likewise, visual and audio effects, unit balance, and overall optimization are not final. Players are asked to leave feedback or comments at the demo's conclusion, which the development team will use to improve and update Broken Arrow.

The Broken Arrow demo is available for free from today, Monday 6th of February, at 18:00 GMT / 10 AM PST until Monday, 13th of February, at 18:00 GMT / 10 AM PST.
