August 2024 – Drattzy Games LLC, the indie studio known for its retro-inspired JRPGs, is providing an important update on the development of their highly-anticipated title, Alterium Shift. This announcement comes in the wake of significant changes within the company and aims to reassure the community of its ongoing dedication to delivering a high-quality gaming experience.
Current Status and Challenges
First and foremost, we want to address the delay in our project timeline. When we released the Early Access version of Alterium Shift in July 2023, our goal was to achieve a full release by now. However, several factors have influenced our progress. The Early Access phase revealed numerous critical features that our users prioritized, leading to a reassessment and realignment of our development focus.
Major Change in Publishing Partnership
In a significant shift (pun intended?), we have amicably terminated our agreement with our publisher as of July 2024. This decision, though challenging, was necessary for both parties to pursue their respective goals. We deeply appreciate the support and efforts of our former publisher and wish them the best in their future endeavors and gaming portfolios. The discussions around this transition have been ongoing since early 2024, impacting our development focus and timeline.
Implications and Moving Forward
This change has had multiple implications:
1. Project Delay: We had hoped to launch the full version of Alterium Shift this year, but we must now reassess our timeline. Despite this, we are committed to delivering substantial updates, including a major content update aimed at achieving 75% content completion by the end of this year.
2. Localization Removal: As our former publisher owned the localization rights, we have temporarily removed localization from the game. We are actively exploring solutions to reintroduce this feature in the future.
3. Development Focus: With the publishing responsibilities now fully on our shoulders, we ask for your patience as we regroup and refine our roadmap. Our small team is excited to push forward, albeit with the added challenge of managing all aspects of the project internally.
Future Plans and Community Engagement
Looking ahead, we plan to share a high-level roadmap with our community. This will outline our best estimates for the project’s timeline, though we ask for understanding as these dates are subject to change due to the dynamic nature of our development process.
Additionally, we are thrilled to announce our participation in upcoming events such as 2D Con in Minnesota and PAX West in Seattle, Washington. We are gearing up for these showcases and will provide more detailed updates post-event.
Our Commitment
Despite the setbacks, our dedication to Alterium Shift remains steadfast. We have been continuously working on the game and are committed to more frequent and transparent updates moving forward. Your support and patience have been invaluable to us, and we are determined to meet and exceed your expectations with the final product.
Thank You
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our community for their unwavering support and feedback. We believe in the potential of Alterium Shift and are excited to share its ongoing journey with you. Please stay tuned for more updates and announcements as we navigate these changes together.
