OSAKA, Japan – April 24, 2025 – Today, SNK CORPORATION launched FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, marking a historic return of the legendary fighting game series for the first time in 26 years. FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves features a striking art style, a mix of new and returning fighters, the innovative REV System that amps up the action, and a suite of battle mechanics (including rollback netcode) in a title that is more robust than ever. Purchase the game digitally on PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, and buy the physical edition of the game at major retailers, including Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, and GameStop – all for $59.99. Additionally, the titles for the SNK World Championship 2025, a global tournament dedicated to SNK fighting games, have been finalized. FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves alone will have a total prize pool of $2,500,000; the champion will walk away with $1,500,000!


Additionally, qualifiers will also be held for THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV and SAMURAI SHODOWN. The FATAL FURY series debuted in 1991, helping ignite the fighting game boom of the 1990s. GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES, released in 1999, stood as the series' most recent chapter—until now. City of the Wolves brings back icons like Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui, introduces new fighters like Preecha and Vox Reaper, and welcomes world-famous superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Salvatore Ganacci. Coinciding with the release, Fatal Fury-themed vehicles have been sighted in various locations worldwide since as early as April 7—with a decorated bus emerging in London, Paris, Los Angeles, New York, Taiwan, and Bangkok, and a limited-time coffee truck gracing the streets of South Korea. The REV System, debuting in FATAL FURY, introduces powerful offensive tools right from the start. Players choose where in their health bar to activate the mechanic and can unleash REV Arts, REV Accel, REV Blows (when S.P.G. is active), and more until the REV Meter overheats. Manage your heat level and stay aggressive to keep the fight at full throttle Classic Battle Systems Evolved


Many classic FATAL FURY battle systems are back in full force, including Combination Attacks, Just Defense, Breaking, Dodge Attacks, and Feints. Players can choose between two control schemes: Arcade Style, built around precise technical inputs, and Smart Style, which allows for flashy special moves and combos using simple directional inputs and single-button presses. SNK has joined forces with 11 talented DJs in FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, with 19 new tracks centered around the world and characters of City of the Wolves that will appear as stage music. The SNK World Championship 2025 is an esports tournament where players will vie for the top of the SNK fighting game world. Qualifying Tournaments will be held in various regions across the world, culminating in a Finals Tournament held in the USA at the tail end of 2025.
