September 13, 2023 - Hooded Horse is continuing its World Tour, this time heading to London, United Kingdom, to attend the WASDxIGN event from September 14 - 16. Apart from demos and playable builds from over a dozen games, we’ve got two specific highlights to share during the show.
First up, there’s a new trailer for Sons of Valhalla, the pixel art action/base-building game from Pixel Chest Games where players must lead a warband and carve a bloody trail across England in search of lost love. After the game’s enormously successful Next Fest run back in February, the developers have decided to take more time to implement feedback from players and delay their release into 2024.
A few key areas that have improved include:
- Improved progression systems
- More functionality for outposts
- New champion units
- A new command system for the warband
- A better revival loop - you don’t have to fight through Hel every time you die

We’ll also be treating fans to a sneak peak of the upcoming Next Fest demo for Mars Tactics, Takibi Games sci-fi turn-based tactics game where players can choose to either fight as the corporations or the local Martian workforce in a deadly struggle for the Red Planet. The upcoming October Next Fest build vastly improves the tactical layer with new mechanics and visuals, lets you play as the “Capital” for the first time, as well as lay the foundations for a new and improved strategy layer.
