Today, Bolverk Games is launching a demo of Metroidvania-inspired FPS Genotype. In the demo, players experience the first level of an underground Antarctic facility that frames the action-adventure. During the 30-minutes to
1-hour level, survivors make first contact with aggressive alien lifeforms, discover increasingly advanced weaponry, and peel the first layers off the mysteries of the hidden lab facility and its critical failure that suddenly unleashed a potentially world-ending event. Keep your head cool. Think. And act!
To survive, you must explore. You must adapt. And you must fight.
Today's demo launches on Steam, Meta’s app lab, and itch.io. Genotype is also available in try-before-you-buy mode on Meta Quest headsets.
The full version of Genotype
The full version of Genotype launched in October 2023 and has received numerous updates and patches since, including a huge combat update in response to early player feedback. In its current state, Genotype recently won Game of the Month on the Virtual Strangers podcast and YouTube channel.
Genotype is available for Meta Oculus headsets, PICO, PSVR2, and on Steam.
