Following last year’s release of their Sunfire and Moonshadow expansion, Lost Pilgrims, developer and publisher of Vagrus - The Riven Realms releases Old Acquaintances, a DLC that features two returning but changed companions from the Pilgrims of the Wasteland prologue scenario – old favorites for those familiar with the story – now recruitable in the main, open-world campaign.
The two companions have been revealed to be Javek, a Tarkian telepath and sorcerer, and Sedarias, the now Undead Knight of the Black Sun. Both shall undertake expansive quests that see their mutual storylines develop in profound ways never before seen in the Riven Realms. Each quest is said to be unique, exploring disparate themes that align with the two companions’ particular pasts.
The DLC also introduces a host of new enemies, a swathe of new NPCs, and the Collegium Mercennaris, an independent guild through which players can contract new hirelings to bolster their comitati. Hirelings on offer include an ex-gladiator, a Necromancer-for-hire, a Kal-rish ranger, and a veteran slinger. The developer emphasizes that these mercenaries are most useful in the early to mid-game, though accomplished vagri may find their skill sets beneficial, too.
