Set in the Nordic-inspired universe, Jordenheim, players follow the story of Astrid, a young Viking witch, as she leaves home for the first time to discover the truth behind her burned village. Exploring how all actions matter, BloodBond: Into the Shroud “rewards” players for every action, discovering new locations, crafting items, or receiving blessings from the Gods. As Gods rarely favor anyone in quite the same way, players will experience different journeys on multiple playthroughs.

With a strong focus on exploration and story first, players earn experience in-game through not only combat, but also, discovering new locations, crafting & foraging, and being blessed by the Gods. BloodBond: Into the Shroud takes place when the main protagonist, Astrid finds her village burnt to the ground and her mother missing. Unsure of her own capabilities, she seeks out her father, a hero of yore, Birger. BloodBond: Into the Shroud is a journey of self-discovery and resilience. The players will take different paths to learn the truth and unlock Astrid’s potential.
Throughout the games, players will journey through Jordenheim. Along the way, the players may choose to stop and pray at altars of the Gods. Gods may choose to bestow a random blessing on the players that will affect the way they play the game.
