SimplyPassionGames, a solo developer studio, is excited to share this new Gameplay Trailer for a puzzle game "You Can't See Ghosts!", The trailer not only showcases the game's unique mechanics but also gives a sneak peek into the full release's content. The 1.2.0 Atmospheric Update for the demo introduces some new artistic changes that enhance the game's atmosphere, and a brand-new soundtrack composed by Ryan Allen/RyanAVX adding to the experience.

About the game:

"You Can't See Ghosts!" is a unique puzzle game centered on spatial awareness and deductive reasoning, with a charming story featuring two ghosts and the mysterious Curator. Unlike standard Sokoban games, where players push boxes around a grid, “You Can't See Ghosts!” flips the genre by making the player character invisible. Players must use various sound cues, such as bumping into walls or stepping on glass, to deduce their character's position and solve each level. This innovative approach makes the game engaging for both experienced players and newcomers alike. The game is developed using the Godot engine.


Inspiration:

The game draws heavy inspiration from various puzzle games, with particular influence from “Baba is You” for its creative puzzle mechanics, and from games like Sudoku and Minesweeper for their emphasis on logical deduction and spatial reasoning. The narrative is inspired by the storytelling in “Undertale”.

Main Features:

  • Gameplay: Over 100 hand-crafted levels that reinvent the Sokoban genre, offering a mix of unique mechanics and reimagined classics. Designed to challenge and engage players of all skill levels.
  • Story: A charming narrative where players help two ghosts, Neb and Grace, ascend a tower, uncovering secrets about the tower, the ghosts, and the mysterious Curator.
  • Replay: After completing each level, players can watch a full replay of their moves to review and learn from their strategies.
  • History Tracker: A built-in log that visualizes each sound cue, making the game accessible and enjoyable for players with hearing challenges by providing visual feedback for auditory elements.
  • Markers: An in-game tool for creating and organizing custom markers, ideal for tracking thoughts and planning moves in complex puzzles.
  • Hints: Each level provides custom hints to help players overcome challenges when needed.
