Wrocław, Poland - April 1, 2021. Eremite Games presented new screenshots from their roguelite city builder - Against the Storm. The screenshots give an exclusive look at the game’s new crimson biome and show everyday tasks of three species who inhabit a world tormented by the everlasting rain.
It’s a beautiful yet dangerous land colored in a strange shade of crimson. It's often referred to as the Herb Garden of the Kingdom - due to the abundance of herbs, berries, and roots. It’s as wet as other biomes but much warmer, which makes it a perfect habitat for Lizards.
It’s the game’s third revealed environment. The player will also settle the unforgiving Marshlands, also known as the Mushroom biome. The cold climate makes it harder for villagers to survive and work there.
Last but not least, there are the Royal Woodlands. Those are the Queen’s forests which are rich in wood, vegetables, and mushrooms. The soft and fertile soil makes it a perfect place for growing crops.
The player chooses the starting biome in the World Map view. Each biome has different statistics and offers divergent challenges. The player is never given a full collection of buildings, so it’s essential to carefully choose starting bonuses and a deck of building blueprints.
Against the Storm is coming to PC later this year. You can learn more about the game from its Steam and GOG pages.
