Ant-themed RTS Empires of the Undergrowth joins Hooded Horse

March 16, 2023 - Hooded Horse is pleased to announce it has signed Empires of the Undergrowth, a real-time strategy and simulation game developed by Slug Disco Studios where players lead a colony of ants to greatness in the hidden world beneath the soil.

Empires of the Undergrowth has benefited from an active early access period over the past five years, receiving plenty of support and expansion content. With new species such as fire ants and leafcutter ants, gameplay modes such as auto-battle-style Tug of War, and a plethora of new maps, this unique RTS has evolved and grown better over time. Hooded Horse will bring its own considerable marketing expertise to bear as the game heads toward 1.0.

Empires of the Undergrowth is available in early access on PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. A press kit is available. 

Empires of the Undergrowth has been translated into German, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Russian, French, Czech, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, and Polish.

Slug Disco Studios is a UK-based studio founded by three childhood friends who had a dream of producing a videogame all about ants. A combination of freelance contracts, Kickstarter, and a Creative England grant helped bring their debut title, Empires of the Undergrowth, to Steam in 2017. The studio has since explored other game experiences themed on the natural world, and they publish other games along similar themes.
