The Oregon Trail: Music from the Gameloft Game Brings the Soundtrack of the Award Winning Apple Arcade Hit to Streaming and Download Services

Soundtrack Release Coincides with the 50th Anniversary of the Famed The Oregon Trail Franchise and the Latest Update to The Oregon Trail for Apple Arcade

PARIS, FRANCE – December 17th, 2021 – Gameloft, a leader in the creation and publishing of games, and HarperCollins Productions, in partnership with Decca Records US (a division of Verve Label Group), are thrilled to announce the release of The Oregon Trail: Music from the Gameloft Game, the soundtrack for the award-winning smash hit title exclusively on Apple Arcade, Apple’s popular game subscription service that offers unlimited access to a growing collection of over 200 premium games — featuring new releases, award winners, and beloved favorites from the App Store, all without ads or in-app purchases. The soundtrack release coincides with the 50th Anniversary of the franchise, which first released on December 3, 1971, as well as the fourth and latest update to the Apple Arcade hit.

The Oregon Trail: Music from the Gameloft Game is the first official album release from Gameloft for The Oregon Trail, and the latest album release from the game publisher and developer, following the November 2021 release of High Scores: Music from Gameloft Games. The soundtrack was composed by award-winning Gameloft composer Nicolas Dubé, who crafted the contemporary alt-country sound. Gameloft also worked with Native American scholars on the tone and instrumentation of tracks for stories that highlight Indigenous peoples.

Today is also the latest update to The Oregon Trail for Apple Arcade. Since its launch in April 2021 from Gameloft and HarperCollins Productions, many features and content have been added to the game, including collectables, new game modes, fishing, new story-driven journeys and quests such as The California Trail, new items and tools, new classes, new art, gameplay rebalancing, and much much more.

With this fourth update, new features include:
  • Community Goals: Choose sides and cooperate with other players to construct the Transcontinental Railroad, contributing items, scouting the railroad, and complete both individual and community goals each week!
  • Tranquil Trail: Experience The Oregon Trail in a meditative version focused on music, game art, and relaxation, perfect for work and study sessions, as a screensaver, or just as a calming way to experience the trail.
  • Contracts Expanded: The special Contracts system has been expanded tasking players to include hunting and rafting challenges.
  • A New Gallery: Players can now unlock Gallery Tokens in Community Goals, which can be spent on new artwork, music, and even 3D Character Prints, which can be used in real 3D Printers!
  • Pony Express and California Trail Updates: Take part in a new journey inspired by the Pony Express! This update also introduces improvements to the California Trail and the Burn status effect.
  • Global Stats: Have you ever wondered just how many people have died of dysentery while playing The Oregon Trail? In this update you can see worldwide stats like this and many more!
  • App Store Sticker Pack: Give your friends dysentery in the official The Oregon Trail sticker pack available on the App Store!

Playable across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, the game is available exclusively on Apple Arcade for a low monthly subscription of $4.99 with a one-month free trial.
