Whispering Stacks Steam page launch – A Cozy Wizardly Rogue-Lite Zap-em-Up

Whispering Stacks is the debut title from Scottish Indie Developer Gilded Gully, where you play a Wizard venturing into a library full of magical creatures in search of some good reading.

With a side-scrolling format inspired by classic 90s gaming, a bright, bold and simple art style, and soft warm audio, Whispering Stacks is a game with short action-packed loot expeditions and dry Scottish humour, set in a whimsical world of magic and mayhem for Chaos Goblins and Fairy Princesses alike.

Collect furniture to decorate your reading nook, Tarot cards to tell your fortune, and a wardrobe of customizable outfits. Make friends with an assortment of characters, and most importantly: pet the dog.

The Steam page for Whispering Stacks is now live, with a demo planned for May 2025, followed by release for Windows and Mac. You can help the game out by adding it to your wishlist to help promote visibility on Steam. The game is planned for Summer 2025, with regular free content updates planned following launch.

Gilded Gully’s owner and founder Mr Dorothy has been an avid gamer since he broke his first ZX-Spectrum in the 80s and believes in fair pricing for gamers; the price you pay up-front is the price of the game, and all future content updates will be included in this price. Whispering Stacks is expected to launch around the £10 price mark.

This is Gilded Gully’s first video game, Mr Dorothy has years of experience as a player, programmer, budding artist, and jack-of-all-trades. It is his hope that this will come together to create a wonderful gaming experience that makes players feel comfortable and engaged in a world of magic.
