FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — Dec. 12, 2024 — Grizzly Man marks the highly anticipated return of the critically acclaimed Pixel Pulps series, combining thrilling slasher storytelling with retro-inspired visuals.
Twelve years after surviving a mysterious attack in an Alaskan forest that left his memory shattered, Robert—a former Man in Black turned field guide—leads a group of tourists on a journey to the headwaters of a river during salmon migration. But their journey takes a horrifying turn when they encounter Grizzly Man, a bloodthirsty figure with ties to the CIA and the sinister Project MKUltra. Can they survive the taiga’s dangers, or will they become the next catch of the day?
Slasher thrills meet retro storytelling
Grizzly Man offers a chilling mix of psychedelia, conspiracy, and horror tropes, all wrapped in a striking Pixel Art style inspired by the 1980s. Set during the salmon run in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness, the game delivers an intense pulp fiction-inspired narrative with one of the most unforgettable slashers to haunt gaming.
This title is the first installment in the Direct-To-Video Collection, a new trilogy of standalone Pixel Pulps. Upcoming titles Dark Side Sewers and Possession Junkies will expand the series with even more unforgettable stories.
Launch and availability
Grizzly Man is available starting Dec. 12, exclusively on Steam. It’s the first Pixel Pulps title to be self-published by LCB Game Studio. The game launches in English and Spanish, with plans for additional language localizations. While console ports for the trilogy are planned, details are still being fine-tuned for future releases.
About Pixel Pulps and LCB Game Studio
LCB Game Studio is known for creating Pixel Pulps—an innovative mix of interactive fiction, retro art, and fast-paced storytelling inspired by pulp novels from the early 20th century and ‘80s computer graphics.
The studio was founded by novelist and game designer Nico Saraintaris and artist Fernando Martínez Ruppel. Their collaboration began in 2012 while working on literary projects, which led to the establishment of their own book publishing house, Literatura Clase B. Since 2012, they have expanded their creative partnership into video games and other ventures such as short stories, illustrated novels, comics, and non-traditional narrative experiments. In 2024, a new member joined the team, and together they are taking the game and IP studio in exciting new directions.
To date, LCB has released three Pixel Pulps—Mothmen 1966, Varney Lake, and Bahnsen Knights—on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, available in five languages. A physical edition, Pixel Pulps Collection, was launched in July 2024 for PS5 and Nintendo Switch, compiling all three titles into a must-have package.
