■ About the film trilogy Fate/stay night [Heaven's Feel]
Fate/stay night is a visual novel game that tells the events surrounding the Holy Grail, an omnipotent container able to grant the wish of anyone who claims it.
Its third and final route, "Heaven's Feel"—a.k.a. the Sakura Route—has been adapted into a trilogy of anime films.
Animation production was handled by ufotable, who animated the 2014 TV series, Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works]. The film trilogy was directed by Tomonori Sudo, who has worked on numerous TYPE-MOON anime adaptations as a character designer and animation director.
The first part of the trilogy, "presage flower," was released in Japan in 2017, attracting over 980,000 viewers and making 1.5 billion yen at the box office. The second part is a crucial episode, depicting the trilogy's turning point. At the fateful crossroads of "Heaven's Feel"—part two, "lost butterfly," takes flight.
