Slitherine Showcases Stormbinders

A New Heroic Fantasy Turn-Based Strategy Game with a Classic Soul and a Modern Twist

April 10th, Epsom. A storm is coming—one that fans of fantasy strategy games won’t want to miss. Developed by Destructive Creations and Innominate Games, and published by Slitherine, Stormbinders invites nostalgic players back to the golden age of turn-based strategy, while introducing fresh, innovative mechanics—and magical tempests they won’t soon forget.

Stormbinders blends classic tactical turn-based battles with deeper, broader strategic map exploration in a struggle for survival against chaotic magical storms and ever-changing weather conditions. Its unique randomized storm system adds a new layer of strategy to every encounter. Each time the game is launched, weather patterns shift dynamically on both the global map and the battlefield, reshaping challenges and forcing players to adapt their plans.

The game is a heartfelt homage to the Heroes of Might and Magic series, and fans of the genre will feel right at home. Expect intuitive controls, a clean and responsive UI, deep systems to master, and a smooth learning curve that welcomes new players without compromising on strategic depth.

Turn based battles take place on classic hexagonal grids, where victory hinges on clever army composition, positioning, and the timely casting of powerful spells—all while taking the enemy’s strengths and weaknesses into account.

After the remakes of Master of Magic and Fantasy General, we are honored to pay tribute to such an iconic franchise in the history of strategy games with Stormbinders,” said Marco Alessandro Minoli, Director of Publishing at Slitherine.
It was truly time for the Slitherine catalog to include a title that could resonate with fans of the timeless Heroes of Might and Magic series.”

Strategic depth goes far beyond combat, thanks to robust realm management: by expanding their domains, players strengthen their forces and unlock new opportunities. They will explore a wealth of single-player maps and multiplayer challenges in a 4X-inspired style—besieging enemy castles, gathering vital resources, and seeking out unlikely allies in a world shaped by chaos, magic and storms.

At launch, Stormbinders will feature four distinct factions, each with its own rules and playstyle, for a total of 72 units—including legendary heroes, arcane spellcasters, and mystical creatures.
