October 14, 2024 - Hooded Horse is excited to offer a peek at some exciting features coming to Balancing Monkey Games’ sci-fi city-builder Beyond These Stars. Tasked with rebuilding civilization on the back of a space-faring whale called Kewa, players will need to look beyond the whale’s confines to find what they need – this is where galactic travel and planetary outposts come in!
The resources available on Kewa’s back are limited, but as players travel the galaxy, they will encounter planets that once belonged to the peeps’ ancestors. By reclaiming these planets, players can access rare and unusual resources that can fuel society and unlock more advanced buildings.
Kewa and the city that dwells on their back will always take priority – the planetary outposts are supplementary to the main city, but they will serve a purpose in the long term. You can read more about these upcoming features in the latest dev diary, which includes an update on the game’s new release window. The game has also generated over 100,000 wishlists since it was announced.
Beyond These Stars will release in 2025 via early access for PC on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. A press kit is available.
