With version 0.4 comes our next content update for Dorfromantik. The team is currently in the middle of our final project for the master's degree at university. However, we didn't want to miss the chance to give all players a little joy for the winter time.
We want to thank you all for your support during all this time, we are already looking forward to the upcoming 1.0 release next spring and are excited to share more news with you soon!
New Biome - 'Midwinter'
The newest biome 'Midwinter' is here! Grab something warm to drink, get cozy and enjoy the new winter dress for Dorfromantik. The biome is already unlocked for all players during the Steam Winter Event. After that you will be able to unlock it permanently for your game by completing the new "Landscaper V Challenge".
New Challenges & Achievements
Matching the new Midwinter Biome there are of course again many new variations of all Special Tiles. Some also bring completely new challenges with achievements:
- Challenge Puzzler VII
- Challenge Heavy Weight VII
- Challenge Landscaper V
- Place down 4000 tiles in total.
Ingame Biome Configuration
We've absorbed the community's feedback and created a new way to continuously change biomes in the game to suit your tastes.
This allows you to experience your world in different biome combinations in real time without having to switch to the main menu in between.
More Performance
We've also worked on how objects ingame are handled and have started reducing memory footprint of the game, yielding a 40% performance and huge loading time increase in many cases.
Localization improvements
We've also updated and improved German, French, Spanish, Latinamerican Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Dutch, Ukrainian and Arabic translations.
