Lithuanian talent shines at GameTech Demo Day, marking the success of the accelerator’s first edition
The 12 participating teams showcased their projects, demonstrating the progress made during the three-month acceleration program. Each studio had the opportunity to present their games to investors, publishers, and other stakeholders, receiving valuable feedback and expanding their networks.
Lithuania’s growing gaming industry was well represented by a diverse range of projects, covering genres from virtual reality experiences to social gaming platforms. Several teams explored new mechanics, such as innovative VR interactions, dynamic physics-based gameplay, and novel approaches to cooperative multiplayer experiences. Others focused on storytelling, crafting atmospheric horror adventures, interactive narratives, and games that integrate real-world themes such as dating and hacking simulations. Additionally, the lineup included projects emphasizing community-building and engagement. This mix of creative and technical innovation highlighted the potential of Lithuania’s emerging game development ecosystem and the strength of its talent pool.
The Demo Day also featured two engaging panel discussions. The first was a fireside chat where GameTech teams discussed the challenges they faced during the program, from technical hurdles to market positioning and how they overcame the challenges. The second focused on public-private investment in gaming, examining opportunities for collaboration between developers, investors, and government initiatives to sustain and grow the industry.
“Our main goal is to support the ecosystem by helping teams grow into professional studios, creating attractive projects for both publishers and players,” said Joan Francesc Bañó, CEO of GameBCN. “We aim to foster connections between small and large companies, universities, and the industry as a whole. Lithuania has great potential, and this initiative marks an important step forward."
Karolina Urbonaitė, Head of Startup Lithuania at the Innovation Agency Lithuania, remarked on the growing potential of Lithuania’s gaming industry over the past months “We have seen these teams explore new technologies and create unique experiences that have the potential to make a significant impact on the global stage. Lithuania is dedicated to building a thriving environment for game developers — welcoming international talent and ensuring our gaming industry stays innovative, competitive, and dynamic”.
As GameTech’s first edition comes to a close, the accelerator is already looking ahead to its second edition, which has received 49 applications from teams eager to participate in the next round.
