Chrono Sword is a pixel art Souls-like action RPG developed by Korean dev team 21c.Ducks that tells the story of the dark gothic fantasy world of Adelnor, where players must travel between the past and future to unlock its secrets.
Revealed first to the public in 2019, this Souls-like action RPG garnered a great deal of interest in Korea and abroad for its unique pixel graphics and gameplay. Selected as the first game in the collaboration campaign by North American crowdfunding site Kickstarter and the global game testing platform Game Round.Inc in 2020, it raised over seventy thousand dollars to successfully reach its funding goal.
Chrono Sword is a new take on the Souls-like genre, departing from the full 3D action RPGs on the market, choosing instead to fashion their Souls-like with pixel art and a quarter-view perspective. Since the announcement of this game, indie team 21c.Ducks has poured their hearts and souls into developing a strong storyline and advancing both the action and RPG elements of their Souls-like entry.
Chrono Sword will appear as a demo version at the Tokyo Game Show 2024 at the Happinet booth. Compared to the demo released after the previously held funding campaign, the action RPG elements that define it as a Souls-like game have been improved upon, allowing players to experience the improved gameplay packed into this new demo.
Specifically, the newly released build to be featured at the Tokyo Game Show 2024 is wholly different from builds released in the past. As it’s been quite some time since players have gotten a look at the development of this game, it’s expected to draw a great deal of attention from players attending the exhibition.
Alongside this announcement, CFK is unveiling new key art for Chrono Sword. This key art will be the first time players get to see two playable characters, one male and one female, that will lead them through the story of the game. This new key art depicts the desperate struggle of these characters as they journey to prevent the destruction of their world. This newly unveiled official key art will also be featured at the Happinet booth as a large poster.
Finally, CFK is creating a subreddit for Chrono Sword to open up communications with fans from around the world. This Reddit page is expected to be the hub for community activities and the home to the exchange of all sorts of opinions regarding the game.
