Industry giant launches £35,000 tech treasure hunt across Britain!

A tech giant is celebrating its 25th anniversary by hiding £35,000 worth of prizes in mystery locations across the UK.

Box is taking to the road to visit four towns or cities with prize boxes packed with the latest tech goodies, including TVs, laptops, PCs, gaming headsets, soundbars – and more.

Two boxes will be hidden in each of the four locations – and the first person to find each one will win the contents.

Each box will contain prizes worth thousands of pounds. All the Box Hunts will take place on a Thursday in September (2, 9, 16 and 23).

Clues to the location of the prize boxes will be given on Box’s social media channels in the week prior to each Box Hunt.

On September 30 there will be a separate competition on Box’s website and social media channels with more top prizes up for grabs. The total prize pot is worth in the region of £35,000.

Mark Jordan, Box CEO, said: “We’re very proud to be celebrating our 25th anniversary this year – and we couldn’t let the milestone pass without shouting about it.

“The Box Hunt is going to be a really exciting event, giving people the chance to get their hands on amazing prizes.

“Having been in business for a quarter of a century, we have amazing relationships with the manufacturers we work alongside and they’ve stepped forward by donating some of the most sought-after items in the tech world.

“It’s a really simple premise – find it, grab it, win it. I can’t wait for the game to begin.”

Some of the manufacturers involved in the campaign include top brands such as Acer, Samsung, Logitech, Philips, Sharp and LG.

The competition begins in earnest on Monday (August 30) as the first characters of the destination postcode is revealed on Box’s FacebookTwitter and Instagram channels.

Box, which has its offices in Birmingham, sells an extensive range of technology and computing products, including laptops, desktop PCs, phones and tablets, components, monitors and printers.

The business was founded by Mark Jordan in 1996 and today is the UK’s leading technology e-commerce business, employing over 100 people.
