Old-Timey Investigative Visual Novel “Death Trick: Double Blind” Announced for Nintendo Switch

Flips, twists, turns; no, I’m not just talking about the circus!

During today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase, Southeast Asian indie publisher Neon Doctrine and developer Misty Mountain Studio announced that the high-flying non-linear murder mystery Death Trick: Double Blind is headed to the Nintendo Switch. Prospective Sherlocks can get a jump on the action today, as the Death Trick: Double Blind demo is available now in the Nintendo eShop.

Set in mid-twentieth century America at the height of traveling circus popularity, Death Trick: Double Blind is a unique pulp art-inspired interactive story in which the star magician of Morgan’s Traveling Circus goes missing. To unravel the mystery, players must divide and conquer, gathering statements as two unique protagonistic point-of-views: one a fellow magician and colleague of the victim, and the other a private eye grappling with a bout of amnesia.

Death Trick: Double Blind features an intricately woven storyline that puts players’ decision-making to the test. A player’s choice of which clues to pursue, characters to interrogate, and locations to visit will affect the story and lead to one of several unlockable endings. The sprawling, non-linear narrative, combined with an alluring mixture of vintage-style art and sound design, captivates the experience of truly being at the traveling circus when disaster strikes.

What hidden secrets among Death Trick: Double Blind’s cast of colorful characters hold the truth? Who’s lying? Who is responsible?!
