StressOut teases VR destruction fans with a new trailer. Early Access announced
Destroying the local shopping centre has never been more fun.
StressOut is all about havoc and destruction. Players find themselves in a frozen-in-time shopping mall and the only way to escape is to destroy everything as quickly as possible. The recent addition of humans into the game, along with refreshing and hilarious voice lines, whilst facing moral dilemmas of whether to let them live or die in a comical way, offers a new way to experience what the world of VR has to offer.
StressOut features full Valve Index's finger tracking, which allows users to experience the headset in a new way, through multi-finger and hand gestures. Users with WMR headsets will not be left out either, as implementation is in progress.
Other new additions include the so-called "WTF" levels, where gravity is switched off, the use of portals and the most frequently requested function in VR, smooth locomotion. Players can now either use the teleport option, or walk and run around. To celebrate ultimate destruction, players can also throw heavy objects around and destroy surrounding buildings.
Behind the scenes, the developers revealed their motives for creating a destruction game: "You see, it's in our nature, or at least it was when we were kids, to try to break things. Then we are taught not to do that because people tend to get mad at you. If you break stuff as an adult, there are consequences. You have to reimburse the owner and maybe find yourself in trouble with the authorities. That is why we created StressOut, a world where one can go beyond the limitations of the real world".
The recent success of the Open Beta weekend, encouraged game developers to set a date of 10 December for Early Access release on Steam and 14th of December on HTC’s Viveport. Get to know more about the game by signing up for a monthly newsletter at www.stressout.net.
Now you will be able to let go of your inner frustrations and smash that grocery store with a huge selection of melee weapons, or by using superpowers. Don’t forget to add StressOut to your Steam wishlist.
