Nexon and Tencent Partner to Publish The First Berserker: Khazan in China

Tencent and Nexon’s Neople to Localize for Chinese Players

TOKYO – December 9, 2024 NEXON Co., Ltd. (Nexon) (3659.TO), a global leader in online games, announced a new partnership with Tencent to publish Nexon's highly anticipated game: The First Berserker: Khazan in China. Nexon’s NEOPLE INC., the developer of the blockbuster Dungeon&Fighter franchise, will work closely with Tencent to develop a localized version of the game for the PC platform.

The agreement builds on the highly successful partnership between Nexon and Tencent that has released Dungeon&Fighter PC in 2008 and Dungeon&Fighter Mobile which became one of China’s most successful mobile launches when it debuted in May of this year. In August, the two companies announced an agreement to publish two games from Nexon’s Embark Studios – ARC Raiders and THE FINALS, specially adapted for Chinese players.

The First Berserker: Khazan is a hardcore single-player action RPG set in Nexon’s Dungeon&Fighter universe with thrilling combat and unique cartoon style rendering. Set on the continent of Arad several hundred years before the original Dungeon&Fighter, the game follows Khazan, an exiled general falsely accused of treason. Khazan seeks vengeance, utilizing skills, weapons, and armor.

“Nexon’s synergistic partnership with Tencent has produced some of China’s finest games in recent memory,” said Junghun Lee, President and CEO of Nexon. “The games we release together reflect the respect that both companies share for the players and the culture in China.”

The release schedule for the game will be announced at a later date.
