Seren Nova

Galaeth Games is proud to announce the launch of Seren Nova.  A game that combines combines classic 90s Sci-Fi action games with cheesy live-action FMV cutscenes reminiscent of no-budget Sci-Fi, and includes our very own puppet,

Taking place in the Seren solar system, you are tasked with the role of the last remaining pilot who can protect the system from the evil Brenin.  Pilot your ship over 7 exciting levels in this top-down space action shooter that will play with the memories of every kid who had a N64 or PS1 in the 90s. It could be described as a queer mash-up of Desert Strike, Command & Conquer and Buck Rogers!

Follow the story with the FMV cutscenes featuring 2 non-binary characters and a robot puppet!

Developed on a budget of zero, and mostly built on a PC put together from parts from an old PC that used to be a server, and rescued from the scrap heap.

Seren Nova has taken a year to create by Llewelyn in their free time, from building the game, graphics, writing the scripts, recording the videos and acting, editing the videos and getting it all ready just in time for the launch deadline!

Being, probably, the first game to have a lead transgender character, Aderyn, who is also portrayed in the live-action video, as well as a non-binary evil character, Brenin, and a puppet, makes this game something fresh in the indie games landscape.

The studio, Galaeth Games, also wanted to draw on their Welsh heritage for the game, meaning that all planet and character names (except out loveable robot) have names coming from Welsh, Welsh folklore and even old Brythonic languages of the UK

Llewelyn, the studio head, proudly announced during the private launch ceremony “We wanted to start something new, combining video games, with live action videos and puppets.  This is something that no-one else is doing, and just the first step into building our own future”
