Shujinkou is now available digitally for pre-order on the PS5. Release date also announced!

January 13th, 2025 - Rice Games Inc is ecstatic to start 2025 with a huge announcement—Pre-orders for Shujinkou, a brand new JRPG IP and the first title in the Shujinkou Trilogy, start today on the PlayStation® Store (PS5) 13:00 PST / 16:00 EST / 21:00 UTC. Shujinkou comes in three different editions:

• Base Edition - $59.99 (Americas) / €59.99 (Europe)
• Deluxe Edition - $69.99 (Americas / €69.99 (Europe)
• Super Deluxe Edition - $79.99 (Americas) / €79.99 (Europe)

• Important: Near the end of the trailer, an * is applied to the line: "Become the main protagonist, and learn* one of the hardest languages in the world (Japanese) while you're at it"
  • *Learning functionalities are implemented through a series of optional gameplay mechanics and systems. Shujinkou™ is not specifically a language-learning tool, and can be fully enjoyed as a traditional JRPG.
• Shujinkou (主人公) means "main protagonist" or "hero" in Japanese.

• A port for Nintendo Switch is currently in development and more news is expected later in 2025.

• Pre-Order Bonus Item Pack: A starter pack of 7 different kinds of special items. Six of the seven items are exclusive to the pre-order bonus and cannot be obtained in any other way.
  • Golden Akami Nigiri: An exclusive special healing item that heals double the TR (health) that an Akami Nigiri heals.
  • Golden Salmon Nigiri: An exclusive special healing item that heals double the MR (mana) that a Salmon Nigiri heals.
  • Golden Ikura: An exclusive special healing item that revives 100% of the target's TR when used (standard Ikura only heal 1% of the TR).
  • Stack of Kin: An exclusive item that provides players with 8 Kin upon using it. Kin is a rare currency that is difficult to find and grind—it can be used to purchase high-quality equipment and more.

  • Shujinkou Beach Painting: An exclusive decoration item that can be used to decorate the Akagi. It features a short, special cutscene between Shu, Jin, and Kou. The Akagi Decoration functionality is unlocked after the player progresses through a certain point in time.

• PlayStation® Network Avatars: Only available through pre-orders, obtain three, five, or seven avatars depending on the edition pre-ordered. Limited to PS5.
  • Base Edition pre-orders will be able to obtain the avatars for Shu, Jin, and Kou. 
  • Deluxe Edition pre-orders will also be able to obtain the avatars for Tatiana and Otogawa.

• Full Game Early Access: Pre-Ordering the Deluxe or Super Deluxe edition will enable one-week early access to the full game, meaning that players can start playing Shujinkou on February 6th, 2025. Limited to PS5.
