Paderborn, Germany / Vienna, Austria, August 26 | The Vienna based studio HR Innoways, known for technically accurate simulation games, and Aerosoft, one of the leading publishers of simulators, officially introduce a new train simulator at gamescom: SubwaySim Hamburg. In this high-quality public transport simulation, players get behind the wheel of the Hamburg Hochbahn U3 line subway and transport passengers through the Hanseatic city. On their way through Hamburg, the players drive through photorealistically recreated stations – and not only in the underground: two thirds of the U3 are above ground.
The title's technology is Unreal Engine 5, which enables high-end graphics at AAA level. The game will be released for Windows PCs in the first half of 2023.
SubwaySim Hamburg is being created in a close cooperation with Hamburger Hochbahn AG; the developers were in Hamburg specifically to record audio and video, talk to drivers, ride in the driver's cab, and also experience operational training. A particular focus was on finding out which technical malfunctions are likely to occur and how drivers can react accordingly - because it's situations like these that truly give the game its thrill.
The team also has access to the official route plans and can therefore accurately recreate the U3 line. Maximilian Rudorfer, CEO and founder of HR Innoways, says: "We set ourselves a very high standard in terms of the degree of realism and the visual aspects.
