The Chronicle of the Kingdom of Rodrigo, Count of Barcelona, in Field of Glory: Kingdoms

Field of Glory: Kingdoms is a unique Grand Strategy game where the player can write the history of their kingdom. The initial setting is historical, the medieval Europe of the 11th Century, but each leader will decide who to ally with, who to fight, the religion of their kingdom, and whether to rule with an iron fist or with courtesy. Let's see the chronicles of one of these Kingdoms.

Let us read the chronicle of Catalonia, penned by its ruler, the Count of Barcellona, and what transpired in its first dozen turns of play

In the tumultuous year of our Lord 1088, I, Rodrigo, Conde de Barcelona, stood at the precipice of war, beset by challenges both within my county and from the looming threat of the Almoravids. With unwavering determination, I turned to my trusted Uncle Silo de Gaona and my younger brother Luys, despite their shadows of doubt and discord that lingered. With the Almoravids encroaching upon our lands and the embers of conflict smouldering, we made the fateful decision to raise an army and march south along the coast, determined to rid ourselves of this menace once and for all. As I deliberated upon the intricate balance of power and resources, my heart weighed heavy with the burden of leadership.

In Field of Glory: Kingdoms, you will manage the entire family tree of your house. Choosing the perfect spouse for a strong alliance is a true art.

Each leader in Field of Glory: Kingdoms possesses unique skills and traits. Identifying the most capable general or the most proficient regional administrator is the key to achieving victory.

Amidst the chaos of preparation, Uncle Silo's fervour for reclaiming Spain for the cloth burned bright, infusing our ranks with renewed purpose. With each passing season, our forces swelled in anticipation of the impending conflict, bolstered by the promise of reinforcements from the Lord of Urgell.

As the drums of war thundered and the Emir of Tortosa declared his aggression, our resolve was tested like never before. With our fortified village at Tarragona under siege, I unleashed Luys to defend our borders, while forces gathered in Barcelona to join the fray. Yet, the spectre of manpower shortages loomed large, threatening to tip the scales against us. Through the trials of battle and the tribulations of siege, our faith never wavered. Despite the heresies that festered in Urgell and the relentless onslaught from our foes, we stood resolute, united in our pursuit of victory. And when the dust of battle settled, it was not just a triumph of arms, but a testament to the indomitable spirit of Rodrigo, Conde de Barcelona, and his steadfast resolve to defend his realm against all odds.
