For a limited time only, ambitious middle-managers, capitalists, and business moguls can pick up the free demo as part of the Steam Next Fest from February 24th.
Offering a brand-new retail experience, players can build their empire, stack product high and sell it cheap, motivate staff, expand inventory to meet demand, and be rewarded with the sweet ker-ching of singing cash registers.

Canned goods, dairy, frozen, candy, beer - can you smell what’s selling? Of course not, unless it’s garlic bread. Adapt your store to meet demand, capitalise on trends, slash prices to clear stock and keep an eye on margins to ensure the profits come rolling in.

King of Retail 2 is the sequel to the original retail management empire sim. With more features, depth and customisation, players take on the role of a store manager once again. They must build a successful retail empire, creating and expanding stores, meeting customer needs, appeasing staff, and maximising profits. King of Retail 2 will go into Steam Early Access in 2025.

Freaking Games is a small Danish games development company based in Møn, Denmark, consisting of two full-time team members and three freelancers. The King of Retail series is inspired by The Sims and the team’s own experience in retail. After the successful launch of King of Retail in 2022 as a side project, Freaking Games decided to improve the experience with its full-fat sequel, due on Steam in 2025.
