August 8, 2023 - Fresh from the recent release of strategy game Xenonauts 2, which has sold 50,000 copies in its first three weeks, Hooded Horse is taking stock and looking ahead to the rest of 2023 and beyond. The situation differs from what was announced at the start of the year, but there’s still plenty to get excited about.
In terms of new games, our next major release will be Manor Lords later this year – we’ll share more about the release date Soon(TM). If you’ve enjoyed the recent slate of new games that joined the Hooded Horse family, such as Nova Roma and Necesse, then pay attention to gamescom in August. We'll be announcing two exciting new strategy games from veteran studios. Behind-the-scenes appointments for media and content creators attending the show are available, so please do get in touch if you’d like to know more.
Hooded Horse also has a great line-up planned for Steam Next Fest in October, with brand-new demos from Breachway, The Way of Wrath, Mars Tactics, and more! While there are plenty of things to look forward to from now until the end of the year, other titles in the Hooded Horse portfolio have decided to take more time before releasing. Beyond These Stars, Blacksmith Master, Fata Deum, Fragile Existence, and Espiocracy are all planned for the 2024 calendar year so the developers can ensure their projects end up in the best possible state. As a publisher, we never rush a game out the door, and no game gets left behind - even if that means games need additional time.
Other titles already planned to release during the 2024 window include the recently announced Nova Roma, Capital Command, and the 1.0 releases for Empires of the Undergrowth and Terra Invicta are targeting next year as well.
