SEOUL, KOREA – Oct. 30, 2024 - Today, NEXON Korea hosted their ‘Next On’ media event, which unveiled the company's new management vision and strategic direction marking the first official media engagement with NEXON Korea’s new Co-CEO’s Jungwook Kim and Daehyun Kang.
During the event, NEXON’s leadership announced that the company will be placing a stronger focus on new title development following personnel and organizational restructuring in 2024, and highlighted progress on some of the new projects by unveiling trailers for The First Berserker: Khazan, Vindictus: Defying Fate and NAKWON: LAST PARADISE. Additionally, the company outlined its strategies for vertical expansion (deepening the IP value of three core franchises: MapleStory, Dungeon Fighter, and FC Franchise) and horizontal expansion (integrating live service expertise into new developments or publishing opportunities), emphasizing its goal to lead the way in global growth.

The First Berserker: Khazan

NEXON and Neople unveiled a new cinematic trailer showcasing more of the DNF universe players can explore in the highly-anticipated hardcore action RPG The First Berserker: Khazan (Khazan). The new trailer showcases fragments of a tragic event caused by imperial schemes, as Khazan brutally dispatches countless foes, vowing revenge and embracing a mysterious power.

Additionally, the studio revealed that the title had a successful Technical Closed Beta Test in mid-October with positive player feedback about Khazan’s challenging but thrilling combat and its unique cartoon style rendering. The First Berserker: Khazan (Khazan) is set to launch in early 2025 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S, and will be featured at the Global Game Exhibition G-STAR 2024 in November.
Vindictus: Defying Fate

A new trailer was released for ‘Vindictus: Defying Fate,’ the new action RPG being developed with Unreal Engine 5 set in the Mabinogi Heroes (‘Vindictus’) storytelling universe. This is the first new trailer since the pre-alpha seven months ago, showcasing a variety of exciting updates. Set against the backdrop of a new map (White Tyrant’s battlefield), the trailer introduces new characters (Delia, Karok) and a formidable boss monster (White Tyrant), showcasing an intense battle scene.

The team is hard at work preparing for the next Alpha Test, targeting the summer of 2025, but players can wishlist the game now on Steam, and can follow updates on Youtube and X (formerly Twitter).
NAKWON: LAST PARADISE

"NAKWON: LAST PARADISE" is a survival extraction game set against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse. Last December, the team held their very first Pre-Alpha Test where they collected valuable player feedback and used it to refine NAKWON one step further.

Since then, they have added a variety of different zombie types, each with distinct traits of their own, making them a more dynamic threat to players and maximizing tension in each session. The Combat mechanics have also been rebuilt, and a skill system has been added to broaden NAKWON’s exploration and gameplay experience. Additionally, the team is developing other diverse mechanics such as housing, levels, traits, and character customization to help players survive and progress within the game.

The team continues to be committed to building on the strengths that were highlighted in the Pre-Alpha Test while addressing player feedback to deliver a more immersive and captivating apocalyptic experience in NAKWON: LAST PARADISE.
