The Novice: Animal Kingdom is a gritty, fast-paced roguelike where the line between man and nature breaks down. Dropped into an unforgiving wilderness, players must survive escalating waves of enraged wildlife while climbing the ranks of an adventurer’s guild.
Inspired by modern roguelikes like Vampire Survivors, but delivered through a grounded and realistic visual style, The Novice is built in Unreal Engine and offers a fresh, brutal take on the genre.

Valentin Louvet is a solo indie dev based in Thailand, developing The Novice in his free time as a passion project. This is his first commercial release, combining a love for hardcore roguelikes with a desire to create a visually immersive, survival-driven experience.
