The game’s story focuses on gameplay without pressure, light comedy, interactive elements, and inspirations from personal experience.
Story summary:
In Windreach, in a small apartment top floor, lived Finn and Gray, my favorite couple. Life is simple, perhaps a bit ordinary, and that is good. Finn opens a sweets shop, and Gray is a truck driver. They don't have much, but luckily there is always food on the table. No matter what happens, they got each other.
Yes, this game is relentlessly gay, and the developer/author Griffin Cyan, is proud of it. His quote states, “The story of Omurice Next Time is deeply personal. The inspiration was drawn from my day-to-day life. I am more like Finn, and my boyfriend Garrett is basically Gray. It is a love letter, a memoir, and a vision.”
Although the story is the focus, it is hard to ignore just how beautiful the art is and how well it blends into the gameplay.
MediBang Games will be handling the publication of the game on Steam and other PC storefronts. Although previously released on itch.io, the Steam version will include various minor improvements and Steam achievements.
