Charming Action Adventure “Littlelands” Teams with Apogee Entertainment, Demo in Development

Try out the “cozy quest” in mid-2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOCATION — Nov. 13, 2023 — Littlelands, the adorable action adventure with social simulation elements developed by the team of Rafael Martin and Kyle Creamer and published by Apogee Entertainment, puts down roots on PC and Mac via Steam, sprouting up a demo in mid-2024.

Embark on the biggest little cozy quest of a lifetime. Littlelands, a peaceful, thriving comfy world full of quirky characters, proves to be more than meets the eye — full of mystery, secret areas, and NPC driven quests that can have you suddenly on an unforgettable adventure. What begins as a simple errand to fix a broken computer at Grandma’s house evolves into a mystery-solving escapade that is equally epic as it is delightful.

Step into a vibrant 3D realm and create a pint-sized protagonist with a plethora of character customization options. Trek from village to village, through lush jungles, atop awe-inspiring mountains and across parched desert in search of secret relics of the past.

Adventure big and small with plenty of side quests along the way. Form friendships with the peculiar Littlelands townsfolk, discover their stories, and help them with their tasks to uncover clues leading to new adventures. Discover dungeons bursting with long-hidden loot for the taking, and fend off hungry goblinettes, bats, and skeletons with a mighty sword or far-reaching bow.

Play at any pace, and rest at a cozy home between jaunts into the unknown. Tend to budding gardens early in the morning, or bask in the moonlight with a full day-night system. Plant and harvest a farm’s worth of berries, fish for the catch of the day, whip up a tasty meal, or go treasure hunting with shovel-in-hand.

Spend riches to customize your abode with elaborate front yard waterfalls and welcoming patio setups in a charming and vibrant diorama-style world. Crank up a state-of-the-art home stereo system, and spin the Littlelands soundtrack, coming soon to Apogee Music.

“As I was growing up, many of my favorite action adventure games have the most interesting worlds, but once you completed the game, there was not much to do afterwards. I wanted to make a game that goes beyond the main storyline,” said Rafael Martín, founder of HyperMegaPixel. “Creating Littlelands is a labor of love, and we’re looking forward to sharing a slice of the wholesome adventure with the world in 2024.”

“One of the key things that attracted Apogee to this title is its undeniably unique and charming graphic style,” remarked Scott Miller, Apogee’s founder since 1990. “It just looks like a world I want to explore. The two lead devs behind this game are so talented, and I can’t wait to let people dive in.”

About Apogee Entertainment

Apogee is featured in John Romero’s new book, Doom Guy, along with Masters of Doom, the new FPS documentary, the book Shareware Heroes (2022 release), and many others – because Apogee was a critical player in the rise of the PC gaming, essentially creating the indie scene.

Apogee also funded, produced and published Id Software’s Wolfenstein 3D, the first ever FPS game, and also created pioneering games like Duke Nukem 3D, numerous Duke console games, Prey, Shadow Warrior, Rise of the Triad, and co-owned/co-created Max Payne 1 & 2. These games all earned over $1.5 billion commercially. (Apogee used the “3D Realms” label for many of these releases, but the company was always Apogee.)

The recently renamed Apogee Entertainment, with original founder Scott Miller still at the helm, continues to empower today’s incredibly talented indie developers. Current hit releases include Turbo Overkill and Bread & Fred, along with 10 other games currently in development.
