ABOUT

Riven Crown is a dark, atmospheric Souls-like Action RPG where death is not the end but the beginning of a mythic descent through layered realms beyond life. Set in a decaying dimension ruled by a corrupt monarchy and haunted by the remnants of lost civilizations, the world is steeped in mystery, ritual, and the echoes of a forgotten society.

Blending classic Souls-like combat with a deep, combo-driven fighting system, Riven Crown introduces a fresh, high-skill twist to the genre. Each weapon comes with its own unique combo routes designed to be memorized, mastered, and chained together with precision. It's an approach that rewards muscle memory and strategic timing, especially during tense encounters with relentless, unforgiving enemies.

We call it a “Souls-Fighter” a brutal fusion of methodical combat and stylish execution, built for players who crave both challenge and mastery.

Riven Crown is set to release on PC(Microsoft Windows) in Q4 2026.
 
THE NARRATIVE
The game tells the tale of a fallen hero who dies and is transported to a higher dimension, where they must traverse through multiple worlds, fighting to alter their fate. These worlds are populated by corrupted civilizations, their inhabitants transformed into beasts or demons over time, and the elders of these societies secretly plotting to break free of the cycle and ascend to the next realm.

The hero dies in their world, only to awaken in a higher, fractured dimension where reality is distorted. Here, four ancient civilizations exist, each ruled by a King or Queen who has access to the power of their respective god only the fourth civilization's god remains absent. The inhabitants of these civilizations, corrupted by time and greed, have transformed into hell-beasts and are led by the Deep Samum (a demon of great power) who was once their king or queen. Over time, these rulers were petrified by a cataclysmic event known as The Great Sweep, leaving their people to continue their existence in ruin.

In the wake of this catastrophe, a new breed of humans has emerged. These survivors, in their search for purpose and understanding, have rediscovered the true images of their gods from the past. Guided by these images, they built their cities on the ruins of the old civilizations. The survivors created a Council of Elders three councils, each wielding dark magic to create the Bark Aggregation, a mystical substance that grants humans superpowers and miraculous abilities.
 
GAMEPLAY KEY FEATURES

Explore the beautifully designed world of Riven Crown, where every area is thoughtfully handcrafted and interlinked. Hidden secrets, complex puzzles, and layered environmental storytelling reward exploration and strategic thinking.
 
  • Super-Based Combat System:
Drawing inspiration from fighting games like The King of Fighters, Riven Crown introduces a unique Super State. Build your meter to unleash a super, entering a fast-paced combat mode with enhanced attacks and a swift dodge replacing the traditional roll. Each weapon offers a distinct combo system while in this state.
 
  • Super Combo System:
This rhythm-inspired system challenges players to master precise input sequences. Super combos require skill and timing, culminating in powerful two-phase attacks unique to each weapon easy to execute once learned, but difficult to master.
 
  • Combat Depth & Control Mastery:
With 25–35 hours of gameplay, players will encounter a wide variety of enemies and NPCs across a rich RPG framework. Equip diverse weapons, armor, and items, upgrade your gear, and level up your character. Each piece of gear comes with unique passive abilities that can become permanent through prolonged use.
 
  • Super Meter & Prisoner Rescue System:
Inspired by Metal Slug, rescuing prisoners isn't just for show it empowers your super attacks. The more you save, the more powerful your ultimate becomes, summoning freed prisoners to assist in battle. Attack types vary based on your equipped weapon.
 
  • Dual Blocking System:
Combat features both standing and crouching blocks. Correctly reading enemy attacks is essential, guess wrong and leave yourself open. Mastery of both block types is key to survival.
 
  • Fighting Game-Inspired Kicks:
Use light kicks to break enemy guards and heavy kicks to slam foes into walls. Environmental interaction is encouraged, kick destructible objects to turn them into improvised weapons.
 
  • Precision-Based Combat:
Combat is deliberate, technical, and deeply rewarding. Weapon combos, enemy patterns, and player timing define the flow of battle. Every encounter demands precision and instinct, evoking the intensity of classic fighting games within a Souls-like framework.

The world of Riven Crown hides secrets that shape your destiny. Discovering special statues throughout your journey can influence the game's ending and alter late-game boss encounters, creating a story that responds to your exploration.
 
WHO WE ARE?
Intima Leaf Studio began as a collaboration between its founder and its co-founder who joined the project from the start as the music composer and audio designer. The development of Riven Crown initially unfolded as a solo endeavor, with the founder dedicating 3.5 years to creating the game in their part-time. This early phase was driven by a passion for crafting challenging and thought-provoking video games that explore the complexity of the human mind through rewarding gameplay experiences.

With Mehdi Baccouche’s expertise in music composition and audio design, combined with Aymen Menjli’s 14+ years of experience in the creative industry spanning 7 years as a 3D and VFX artist and a shift into programming, interactive media, and professional VR game development, Riven Crown began taking shape. The experience gained in both indie and professional settings, including senior roles within the gaming industry, helped establish a solid technical and artistic foundation.
