Werewolf-style deduction adventure “Yokai Landlord: Yokai Mystery!” Steam version  Available Today!

Tokyo/Osaka, April 25, 2025 - Osaka, Japan - Osaka-based Fine Corporation
(CEO: Takashi Hashiki) announced the werewolf-style mystery adventure game "Yokai Landlord: Yokai Mystery!" Steam version on Today, April 25, 2025.

About the Game

The player, left alone in the world after losing his father, his only living relative, is left with an apartment he inherited from his father.

The mysterious man who suddenly appears to you, now your landlord, warns you: "You will be in trouble.
There is a Yokai among the residents of your apartment.

From that day on, the days of deductive reasoning to find the Yokai that had cleverly disguised itself as a human began…

This game is a werewolf-style mystery adventure where you track down a Yokai infiltrating the apartment.

The game features a variety of unique and charming residents, but all of them give off a suspicious vibe. In a world where anyone could be the Yokai, remember that “Yokais cannot lie” and use various clues to identify and expel the honest residents.

On the night of the new moon, Yokais unleash their true power, making it a perilous time. That night marks the final deadline.

The story is divided into multiple chapters, and as you progress to the next chapter, the seasons change, and new residents (Yokais?) move in to replace the Yokais that were expelled in the previous chapter. You must deduce which resident is a Yokai disguised as a human, present evidence to a Yokai who has turned into a resident, and expel them.

The player, as the landlord, must uncover the true intentions of the “mysterious man” who reveals why a Yokai keeps infiltrating your apartment.

Features
― A detective adventure game where you must find a “Yokai” that cannot tell a lie

The most distinctive feature of this game is that the Yokai cannot lie. In traditional werewolf games, the goal is to eliminate the humans who are lying, but in this game, the objective is to identify the Yokais who are not lying by eliminating the humans who are lying.

By engaging in conversations with the “humans” who are lying and the “Yokai disguised as humans” who cannot lie, a player must identify contradictions and inconsistencies to uncover the true Yokai.

In this game, you must exclude residents who feel suspicious based on notes from conversations with residents and surveillance camera footage, requiring a different approach to logical reasoning compared to traditional mystery adventure games. This offers a fresh and engaging gaming experience.

― Not just a “werewolf-style game,” but a story of bonds and growth born from interactions with the residents.

At first, it seems like a game where you enjoy only chasing away Yokais to protect the apartment you inherited from your father. However, this game is different. To find the Yokais, you must actively engage in conversations with the apartment residents to determine whether they are human or not. Through these conversations, you come to understand each resident's unique personality and character, which may lead you to develop feelings for those you should be suspicious of, creating a conflict over whether you should really expel someone.

Additionally, in response to your feelings as the landlord, the residents undergo various changes that may influence you and cloud their judgment.

As the story unfolds toward the ending, it will shake your emotions.

We hope that many people will play this game to the end and see the conclusion of this story, which is not just a mystery adventure.

― The ending theme song that adds color to the story, “Sora wo Aruku Hito”

The ending theme song, “Sora wo Aruku Hito featuring Inori on vocals, is already available on various music sites and was created with the story of this game in mind.

As players progress through the game, the meaning of the lyrics will gradually become clear. After reaching the end of the story, Inori's crystal-clear vocals will leave a lasting impression, much like the lingering aftertaste of a wellwritten novel.

―Attractive characters and excellent storytelling

The anime-style titles and pop characters appeal to a wide range of audiences, while the contrast between the evil deeds the Yokai attempt to carry out in the apartment and the great individuality residents' human interactions create a heartwarming novel game that goes beyond mere visual pop appeal or simplistic portrayals of Yokai as evil, continuing the tradition of Japanese adventure games.
