Indie development team Cassel Games' 'Ratopia' is set to begin its Steam Early Access journey on November 6th.

'Ratopia' is a game where, similar to 'Terraria' and 'Minecraft', you control the character, the leader of the rats, to explore the world and construct a city. Building a city solely on your own is quite a challenge, therefore, much like in 'Rimworld' and 'Oxygen Not Included', there's a simulation feature where you issue commands to other rats to aid in the city construction.
However, the citizens won't work without compensation. They require wages, necessities, services, and various infrastructures. The necessary funds for these are obtained through minting coins, taxes, and trade, with the goal to establish a sustainable economy. Additionally, the player must also cope with enemies that periodically invade the city and deal with natural disasters, which ensures a high level of immersion as players may lose track of time.
The developer stated, “As a long-time enthusiast of city-building games, I've always dreamed of developing a simulation game. Pursuing the dream of being a game developer came from that desire. I'm aware that developing a city-building game requires significant time and resources and carries a high risk. However, encouraged by the support from our users, we bravely took on this challenge. We sincerely hope for your continued support and interest.
The game will be available to play on Steam on the upcoming November 6th, 2023. Currently, a demo version of the game is prepared with the newest update, and can be experienced on Steam.
