São Paulo, Brazil - Wednesday, May 8th, 2024 - Mother Gaia Studio is excited to announce that The Posthumous Investigation will be showcased at this year's LudoNarraCon, revealing for the first time its anticipated launch window in Q4 2024. A playable demo will be available on Steam.
The Posthumous Investigation is set in a noir-inspired 1937 Rio de Janeiro and offers a unique blend of murder mystery, point-and-click puzzles, and time-loop mechanics within the frame of visual novel storytelling. Collect clues, explore, and be immersed in the romantic era of the “Marvelous City” in Brazil.
The game's announcement is timed in sync with LudoNarraCon, a festival celebrated for showcasing narrative games. The Posthumous Investigation invites you to investigate the mysterious death of Brás Cubas, the aristocrat who hired you to solve his death. Until the truth is out, you’ll be trapped in a time loop, amidst a plot of conspiracy and treason. Discover and interrogate eccentric suspects inspired by the literary works of the great Brazilian novelist, Machado de Assis.
