For the First Time, Ticket to Ride®: Japan Expansion Comes to Life in Digital Form!

Players will still be competing against each other, but they’ll have to come together to build the Bullet Train routes in the Ticket to Ride: Japan Expansion

[MARMALADE GAME STUDIO — 10/04/2025] Marmalade Game Studio has launched the latest addition to its fan-favourite digital board game adaptation, Ticket to Ride. For the first time ever, one of the most beloved maps from the physical game arrives on digital platforms – Ticket to Ride: Japan Expansion!

Players will have to work together on this stunning new map to build the Bullet Train network – a unique set of routes across Japan that everyone can use to complete their tickets. Players may be tempted to avoid chipping in to help, but ignoring the collaborative effort altogether will cost them 20 points on the crucial endgame scoreboard.

As always, the newest expansion introduces players to two more characters. Travel blogger Nakanishi Kimiko visits various festivals around Japan with her beloved dog in tow. Meanwhile, honoured Gyōji Moriyama Isamu connects players to Japan’s traditions and history.

Players will also get to expand their fleet with two additional trains and carriages. The Ichi Eki Saki train and Tsuki Sleeper carriage promise a gentle journey across the land, while the Isogaba Maware train and Hayai carriage zoom along the rails!

“With springtime just around the corner, there’s no better time to pick up a new expansion to play with friends and family,” says Bruna Silva, London Head of Studio at Marmalade Game Studio. “Ticket to Ride: Japan Expansion encourages a unique style of collaborative competition; perfect for a family game on the couch!”

The Japan Expansion is available to download on iOS, Android, PlayStation, Xbox and Steam now, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch!
