Riftbound gets a new name: Demonlore.

After working closely with Riot Games on a name transition, Riftbound will be renamed to Demonlore.

MELBOURNEApril 2nd, 2025 - Riftbound, the rogue-lite lane defense deck builder from Barrel Smash Studios has been renamed to Demonlore.

Barrel Smash Studios came to the decision to change the title of their first game after Riot approached the studio for use of the name, Riftbound, for their upcoming TCG in their League of Legends universe.

“After friendly discussions with the team at Riot, we concluded the decision to change the name would be beneficial for our studio moving forward. We appreciate Riot for reaching out to us and wish them success in their new venture.”

As for choosing a new name: “Demonlore was our second major expansion for Riftbound and proved a great success for the game so it felt natural to rename it to Demonlore. It is important to convey that the game itself has not changed at all other than its name. Demonlore continues to be an action packed lane defense strategy roguelite using your elemental army to take on the demon bosses.”

Barrel Smash Studios is currently working on their next title, Oceaneers, a colony sim where you build a colony of floating islands, manage survivors, and explore a flooded world by raft. Oceaneers has started closed playtests and can be wishlisted right now on Steam.

Demonlore is available on Steam for Windows PC for 19.99 USD. It supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Europe), Japanese, Russian, and Simplified Chinese.
