Why BloxAR?
For many years, numerous games have attempted to extend the 2D Tetris gameplay into 3D. During this time, many interesting ideas have emerged, but the success of these ideas has been relative due to limitations such as playing on a flat screen, primitive virtual reality, or controls too complicated to allow piece rotation on all three axes.Today, we have advanced devices like Quest 2/3 that allow us to integrate 3D objects into our world, move around them as if they were right there, and provide enough buttons to intuitively map everything needed for the translation/rotation of 3D pieces.
That's why we wanted to create BloxAR, a 3D block game where you can place pieces at your own pace, from calm to a frenetic rhythm. Just as you can rotate the board simply by dragging it without the need to overthink.
BloxAR integrates the board into your real world, allowing you to place it on your table, make it as small as a mobile phone or as large as a building. For the more experienced players, you can even deactivate the passthrough to focus solely on gameplay.
It's important to note that BloxAR is released in early access, in its most minimal version, with 3 different boards but only one endless gameplay mode. More modes are coming, but before that, we want to hear from the community. What would you like to see?
