Korppi Games releases Goblin Camp trailer
A fantasy city-builder game inspired by Finnish mythology, Goblin Camp will be in Early Access on Steam in 2024. “It’s great to get to show off the game. We’ve put in a lot of hard work to get this far,” says Korppi Games CEO and CTO Ilkka Halila.
Korppi Games is also delighted to announce that Goblin Camp will feature an exclusive soundtrack created by video game composer Henri Sorvali (also known from his work with Moonsorrow and Finntroll). From the joyful bustle of the summer to the melancholic dark winters, the soundtrack is keyed to the moods of the different seasons, reflecting the yearly cycle that is a key gameplay element of Goblin Camp. In keeping with the importance of Finnic paganism to the game, it features the traditional Finnish instrument, the kantele.
“When I heard Goblin Camp is in need of music, I got in touch with the team immediately! Combining one of my favourite game genres with Finnish mythology and fantasy sounded like a dream project for me, and I finally ended up composing four times more material than I originally intended just because I liked the game so much!” says composer Henri Sorvali.
You can hear a preview of the music in the track created specifically for the gameplay trailer. Korppi Games is immensely proud to be working with Mr. Sorvali.
In Goblin Camp, the player takes charge of a small settlement of goblins in the northern forests. Deep simulation mechanics capture the unique challenges of surviving the harsh boreal winters. Players will explore a living fantasy world inspired by Finnish mythology, and learn to manage their growing and quirky population of goblins through easy-to-use interfaces. Goblin Camp is a modern and northern take on fantasy city-building.
