Global game publisher CFK (headed by Chang-sig Koo) is proud to announce that its new fast-paced hyper ninja action game, Ninja Issen (忍者一閃), is launching to the globe on Steam today.
Ninja Issen (忍者一閃) is a hyper ninja action game developed by solo Korean dev Asteroid-J, featuring the action-packed story of an on-the-run ninja named Kiba. Experience the pleasure and fun of wiping out waves of enemies with a single stroke of your blade and fending off bosses that block your way forward with their non-stop attacks and various movement patterns, all while making use of the ninja skills at your disposal.
Ninja Issen (忍者一閃), with its cyberpunk future city atmosphere set within a retro graphics filter and one-against-many nimble ninja action, began to attract attention last year as it was named the “Best Indie Game” at the 2022 Made with Unity Korea awards show, a contest held by Unity Korea for games coded in the Unity engine. Following that, it continued to draw attention ahead of its upcoming release by participating in a number of domestic and international game conventions, including G-star 2022, 2023 PlayX4, BIGS 2023, and the recent Tokyo Game Show 2023.
In the midst of all this hype, Ninja Issen (忍者一閃) is further raising expectations by reaching the 2nd spot on Steam’s Popular Upcoming list before its release.

● Game story
One day, ninja Kiba is falsely accused of murdering his clan leader and is immediately chased off by pursuers before he’s able to clear his name.
Though Kiba’s status as top ninja is well known among his clan members, there are simply too many pursuers to stand up to. Desperate to take revenge on those pursuing him, he turns to suddenly find himself in a world unknown to him.
Kiba just manages to save his skin, but the fierce fight has left him on death’s doorstep. Yet, through some strange coincidence, engineer Hanzo happens upon the struggling Kiba and pulls him back from the brink of death.
Through a series of modifications and reinforcements, Kiba gains even more strength. Now, he’s on a journey of revenge, looking to clear his name and return to his own world...
● Main cast of characters
1) Kiba: Our skilled ninja protagonist. Falsely accused of killing his clan leader, he now finds himself being pursued. For some unknown reason, he has been transported into the heart of a city in the future where he sets off on a perilous journey of revenge, searching for a way to return to his own time.
2) Hanzo: World renowned engineer and owner of HANZO'S HOT SUSHI. He happens upon Kiba, dying from the wounds he sustained in battle, and drags him back to his workshop where he saves the man’s life.
3) Asran: Princess of the clan and daughter of its leader. She was caught up in a time rip and now finds herself in a situation she can’t make heads or tails of.
4) Suikyu: Second-in-command of the clan. After the clan leader is killed, he’s the one who accuses Kiba of the crime and orders his men to get rid of the traitor.
Game features
- Experience intense speed and exhilarating ninja action
Players step into Kiba’s shoes, using his arsenal of attacks and skills to carve a path through their enemies without a moment’s hesitation. Experience the speed and pleasure of the gameplay as you dominate the battlefield with all your nimble ninja movements.
On top of that, bosses will test Kiba’s abilities with their overwhelming firepower and unique attack patterns. Players must take advantage of the powerful ninja skills Kiba possesses in order to fight against the fierce attacks of each boss.
- “Find a combat style all your own!” Make use of master ninja Kiba’s weapons and skills
Players must use everything at their fingertips in order to survive these one-against-many battles. There are all sorts of enemies lying in wait for Kiba, meaning nowhere is completely safe.
However, Kiba is a ninja with years of experience under his belt, and he’ll have to put his weapons and skills to good use if he wants to clear each stage. Create your own playstyle as you combine the weapons and skills that suit you.
1) Key weapons
- Katana: Kiba’s main weapon, sporting high attack power for close-ranged battles.
- Shurikens: Long-ranged weapons that also deflect enemy bullets.
2) Key combat skills and abilities
- Issen: One of Kiba’s skills that slices through everything that stands in his way in an instant. The embodiment of the pleasure of landing a killing blow.
- Teleport: Allows you to throw your Katana at your target and then teleport there. Use this to zoom from building to building like a true ninja or escape from traps.
- Fire Circle: Summons a ball of flame that spins in a circle, incinerating everything it touches.
- Phantom: Turns your body into a shadow, allowing you to become invincible for a time.
- In the midst of overwhelming might, find a boss’s fleeting weak point and strike
In each stage, bosses armed with unique attack patterns lie in wait. Once their HP is decreased enough, they’ll enter new phases of combat, switching to even fiercer attacks.
Players must dodge these attack patterns, penetrate their defenses, and find their weak points to strike back. Some bosses even have destructible parts, which may affect boss attack patterns.
The demo version of Ninja Issen (忍者一閃) was made available on Steam, where the developer collected player feedback and made a number of improvements, including game balance and difficulty adjustments, new cutscene illustrations, and a whole lot more. The unique hyper ninja action packed into the game was then strengthened further by adding new stages and hulking bosses for players to enjoy.
Ninja Issen (忍者一閃), having been constantly developed after the release of the demo, now contains nine chapters for players to enjoy. Each stage has a different theme and new gimmicks, guaranteeing all sorts of fun for players to experience.
Accompanying the release of Ninja Issen (忍者一閃), CFK is also releasing the original soundtrack of the game that adds to the richness of the overall gaming experience. The twenty-eight songs in the OST, including the main theme, will allow players to feel the mood contained within each stage again and again. There will also be a digital deluxe edition available on Steam that includes the main game and the OST in a single package.
