Mega Man Zero Rap Tribute Maverick Hunters Now Available

Otaku emcees Noveliss and Mega Ran bring a message of hope and positive change with all-new hip-hop tribute to Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero

DETROIT - MAY 7, 2021 - Nerdcore rappers Noveliss and Mega Ran are pleased to announce MAVERICK HUNTERS, an all-new tribute album that aligns the duo with Mega Man's Maverick Hunters who fight to make the world a better place. Through finally crafted lyrics, the two tell stories of our changing world ("Dream Summer"), not-so-distant memories ("Memory Card"), and even pro-wrestling rivalry ("Clash of the Titans") over classic Mega Man beats by mainstay producers Hiro Beats, Yon Li, and DJ DN3. MAVERICK HUNTERS visits classic Megaman X and Zero themes and cutscenes; remixed, re-envisioned and “flipped” in a style similar to vintage Mega Ran releases, but with the two trading lyrics on the many parallels between the game and real life. MAVERICK HUNTERS is available on all storefronts with the Bandcamp release including a bonus track, "Grove of Titans," produced by Young RJ of Slum Village and featuring RoQy TyRaiD:

“I’ve always been a Mega Man classic and X guy,” Mega Ran says, “but Noveliss has been a fan of Zero since the beginning. His enthusiasm for those games has made me revisit them and while challenging, they arguably have the most engaging story of the entire series... and not to mention the soundtrack. It’s so underrated.”

Noveliss adds, “Zero was always the coolest looking character in the universe... the sword, the weapons... he was who I wanted to be. I played through every game in the series faithfully, enamored by his mysterious nature and strong will. I try to bring that to this album.”

The first music video from MAVERICK HUNTERS, "Memory Card," directed by ShotByDub, is also now available.
