POMPTON PLAINS, NJ - MARCH 28, 2025 - PeqApps today announced the 2.0 release of Quartered for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The initial release of Quartered was met with an overwhelmingly positive response with one caveat, demand for a leaderboard to compete against friends and other players. To satisfy this request a recurring Game Center leaderboard has been added. The leaderboard tracks each day's scores for all players logged into Game Center. The leaderboard resets when a new daily game becomes available.
About the Game:
Quartered, like Quartiles, consists of a grid of 20 tiles containing 5 scrambled words. Unlike Quartiles, it swaps tiles two at a time until all tiles are in the correct position. Similar to Wordle, swapping tiles results in three potential tile colors.
• Grey - This tile is in the wrong column, row position unknown
• Orange - This tile is in the correct column but incorrect row
• Green - This tile is in the correct row and column

The daily Quartered game drops at midnight in the time zone that it’s played.

About the Development
Scramble is a scrambled word game developed six years ago as one of the games in the Brain Arcade app. After playing Quartiles in May 2024 the idea for a new game that modified Scramble's single letter tiles to contain multiple letters was spawned and set aside. In January 2025 the time was right to begin development. Scramble's use of vowel tiles as hints was replaced by three tile colors to convey move results (similar to Wordle). The resulting game, Quartered, provides a near perfect balance of skill and serendipity in its gameplay.
About PeqApps
PeqApps was formed by Dan Hansen in the fall of 2008 to write iPhone apps as a side project while working at IBM. Since leaving IBM in October 2024 two new apps have been developed: Weightage (a weight tracker for data nerds) and Quartered.
