Munich, Germany – August 13, 2023 – BBG Entertainment, the Munich-based game developer and publisher, is enriching the popular Retro Area (Hall 10.2) at this year's gamescom with a spectacular line-up of classics in original and reboot format as well as an innovative quiz game featuring a TV and radio legend.
BOULDER DASH®, one of the most popular video games of all time, is celebrating its 40th birthday this year. To mark this year's anniversary, BBG Entertainment will be releasing a fascinating reboot of Peter Liepa's classic. The ancestor of all puzzle games, which was first released for Atari and Commodore home computers in 1984, will be released for Steam, Switch, Xbox and PlayStation 4 in autumn/winter. BOULDER DASH® 40th Anniversary will celebrate its world premiere at this year's gamescom in Cologne.
The Munich-based publisher will also be showing the Intellivision® classics ASTROSMASH® and SHARK! SHARK!® for the first time in both the original 1982 and 1981 versions and the current reboots for PlayStation, Switch, Xbox, Steam and Mac. Also on show at the stand will be the multiplayer evergreen DYNABLASTER®, which was currently released for PlayStation.
Last but not least, you can try out "Quiz mit Fritz®", a unique quiz game by and with TV and radio legend Fritz Egner (BR, ARD, ZDF, SAT.1). Perfect for all music fans with over 2,200 questions from 50 years of music history from 1974 to 2024 - recognise the voices of Mick Jagger, Ed Sheeran, Madonna & Co. in over 300 original interviews, match over 600 photos and documents to the right artists and guess the hits of yesterday and today.
