AAA action-horror game Displacement is at risk of shutting down. We need your support!

Hello! Our project needs your support to survive.

We are working on a game that blends the haunting atmosphere of BioShock with the brutal intensity of Condemned.

The Game Fund believed in us from the very beginning and supported our idea at the concept stage. Thanks to their investment, we were able to confidently kick off development and build a unique team.

In just 10 months, our crew of 20 has achieved what often takes years — and now, to secure a publishing deal, we need to prove that players want games like this. Your support is absolutely crucial to help us bring this game to life.

Our small but experienced team has made incredible progress, and today we’re ready to show you what we've built and tell you more about DISPLACEMENT.

We are currently seeking a publisher or co-investor to finish development and release the game in 2026.

Game Overview – Concept, Style, and Unique Mechanics

Displacement is a first-person action-horror set in the near future, in an alternate version of history.

You play as a psychologist stationed at a remote polar research base, where the crew has succumbed to a mysterious madness.

Your goal is simple: survive in a hostile and rapidly deteriorating environment. The player must resort to the most radical means of survival — including some good old-fashioned ultraviolence. But the constant stress of isolation and the claustrophobic atmosphere will slowly erode your character’s sanity.

You'll face off against deranged enemies using whatever comes to hand — from fists to improvised weapons — while interacting with a fully reactive environment. We’ve put a lot of care into our combat system to ensure each encounter feels brutal, adrenaline-pumping, and satisfying.

Your character isn’t a trained killer, but as you descend into madness, new and more extreme execution moves will become available.

Core Feature – Dynamic Temperature System

One of the core mechanics that sets Displacement apart is our dynamic temperature system, which directly impacts the environment and gameplay. Players can manipulate the temperature in rooms, changing their physical state — a feature that ties into puzzles, exploration, and combat.

For example, opening a door into a blizzard zone will break the seal of a chamber. Within seconds, the room will start to freeze, covering surfaces in frost and ice.

Multitool – Your Essential Companion

Your main tool is a multi-functional multitool — a device that plays a vital role in both combat and puzzle-solving. It can freeze and thaw objects, giving you creative ways to overcome obstacles and enemies, and opening up new tactical options and routes.

The system is already fully implemented from a logic and gameplay perspective. All that remains is the final polish on visual effects. This mechanic creates truly unique environmental interactions.
Development Status

We’ve built a stable, playable prototype, conducted early demo sessions, and gathered valuable feedback — especially on combat. Since then, we’ve focused on making combat more fluid and refining the environmental temperature system.

We’ve developed a proprietary animation model, designed numerous characters with facial expressions and animations, fleshed out the storyline, and written the game’s lore.

We have hundreds of assets, a distinct visual style, and we’ve begun work on sound and music. The project has officially entered production and is moving forward with confidence.

The Team

Our core team has been working together for over 5 years. We’ve contributed to major titles like Sons of the Forest, Dota 2, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Far Cry 6, Love, Death & Robots, and many others — handling asset production and character development.

The Situation

Despite our experience, Displacement is our first original IP. Many publishers remain cautious about funding single-player titles in a market dominated by live-service and multiplayer games. They want to see strong wishlists and a proven gameplay loop before committing.

Some openly say that wishlist numbers are a deciding factor for investment. That’s why we’ve decided to step into the spotlight.

Your support and reaction to the game right now is a matter of survival.

We’re tired of endless live-service titles and loot boxes — it’s time to bring back atmospheric, hardcore single-player experiences.

Let’s return to an era where a small, passionate team could create something that rivaled multimillion-dollar corporate projects.

If you believe the industry needs games like this — wishlist our game, share it, talk about it. We’re ready to fight. But we can’t do it without you.

Add Displacement to your wishlist.
